Northumberland Real Estate Report
At the end of April 2020 Cobourg, Port Hope, Grafton, Colborne – really all of Nortumberland County was experiencing pretty much the same thing the rest of the world was. We have been blessed in Northumberland to have not had a significant outbreak of the virus. With luck and continued diligence that will hopefully continue.
Real estate has seen a real slow down. It only makes sense that home and property owners are very reluctant to have strangers coming into their homes. The risk of contamination is too high for most families to consider. It is possible to do a lot of the home selling process “virtually”. And agents are taking much greater steps to qualify buyers. But the idea that no one will come into your home is not a reasonable expectation.
During the home selling process there are going to be some things that simply will require strangers coming into you home. We don’t like that idea.
